Aesthetics plays a vital role in the holistic development of our pupils and is very much prevalent in our daily lives.  In Rulang, we strive to equip our pupils with creativity and build self-esteem and confidence in them, and in the process, open doors to imagination and discovery. Daniel H.Pink (2005) stated that, “ the left hemisphere knows how to handle logic and the right hemisphere knows the world.  Put the two together and one gets a powerful thinking machine.”. Hence it is crucial that our pupils attain the skills and processes in these areas during their fundamental years to enable them to develop and grow to their fullest potential. All Rulangnites are given the opportunity to explore the audio and visual world, communicate thoughts and feelings and form concepts about themselves and their environment. Aesthetics Education in Rulang is embraced through a developmental approach in equipping foundational skills in areas like visual arts, performing arts, literary arts and music.
The I Pottery Programme was launched in 2007 to provide our pupils with a more holistic education and it was conceptualised as a means to boost our existing arts curriculum and to encourage Whole-Brain Learning. It was expanded to include pupils from all levels. Pupils are expected to gain knowledge about Pottery; acquire techniques and skills to create a piece of pottery, hence enhancing their fine motor skills and the ability to express their creativity and imagination.   Chinese Brush Painting lessons for Primary 2 to Primary 4 pupils and Batik Painting for Primary 6 pupils conducted by professional instructors have been infused into our Art Curriculum since 2008 and we aim to provide opportunities for our pupils to enhance their skills in these two areas.

Rulang’s Music Comes Alive Curriculum is introduced to make music fully accessible to pupils in stimulating and subject-centred lessons. The Vivaldi Approach is adopted where Spring is for Listening to the music around us, Summer for Creating your own music, Autumn for Performing your music and Winter for Reflecting on the music the pupils have created. The Music Kiosk exposes pupils to music of different genres and culture and creates a space where pupils have the freedom and resources to compose their own piece of music. To enhance their musical talent, the pupils also have the opportunity to learn various instruments such as percussion, wind instrument and string instruments.
